Textbooks
Summer 2008 text adoptions are due
March 21, 2008.
Fall 2008 text
adoptions are due April 4, 2008.
In an effort to make the first days of classes go as smoothly as possible for
all of us, and especially for students, please list all materials, including prs
transmitters, composition books, paint or fetal pigs, to be used in your classes
on the request forms. Please treat coursepacks as textbooks and list them as
well.
Also, if there are any special instructions, note them in the comments box. Such
might include dates students will need books by for study abroad programs, cross
listings on classes, which books will be used first, or anything else you think
will help students get their books.

Coursepacks
Copyright
requests for Summer classes are due
March 21, 2008.
Copyright requests for Fall classes are due May 28, 2008.
The term coursepack refers to the compilation of articles or worksheets from
published works and professor's own works. A coursepack may also refer to lab
manuals produced by the college or anything that we will have to have printed
for sale in the bookstore.
Coursepacks are becoming more popular, and in order for us to have them ready in
time for classes, we need six to eight weeks lead time to secure copyright
permissions. Anything that is copied from another work, including illustrations,
charts and website pages must have
copyright permission requested. We also need
a clean copy of the coursepack, preferably on 8 1/2" x 11" white paper. We will
not print a coursepack without confirmation of granted copyright permission.
Some coursepacks are comprised entirely of work created by the professor and not
copyrighted anywhere else. In such cases, a
warranty form may be filled out
stating that there are no copyright permissions to be requested.

Desk Copies and Publisher Reps
Publisher reps can often answer questions for you and help build packages of
special materials if that is what you need for class. They can sometimes help
you with desk copies too. The bookstore does not order desk copies for our
profs, however we are happy to provide any contact information that we have.
Some of our reps are listed at the link below. For any other info, call us and
we'll try to give you as much info as we can.
